Birthday, Christmas, and Arizona

Matt had his 32nd birthday on Dec 24th! The day is his until after dinner and gifts...then Christmas eve begins. He got a guitar, and a lot of Utah Jazz swag. There was also a lot of smoke from all of those candles!!

Then it was time to go online to check Santa's progress. Isn't technology amazing? After we checked for Santa we read The Polar Express (long time tradition) and Luke 2 (also tradition!). Then we sprinkled the reindeer food, set out the cookies, and went to bed!

The kids were up at 6:30 on Christmas morning, and checked out their stockings! Joshua also quickly noticed his new tricycle and we had a hard time convincing him to get off of it long enough to open his other presents!

We decided to surprise my family in Phoenix on Christmas Day. My brother Tyler is in Army boot camp, but was allowed to come home for Christmas. We didn't know if my recovery would be where it needed to be for a long road trip, so we didn't tell anyone but my dad's wife Jeanne that we were coming. It was so great surprising everyone! We arrived Christmas afternoon and left on Monday morning. A short trip, but so great to see everyone and especially Tyler since he will be stationed who knows where when training is over.

Joshua LOVED this penguin at my dad's house. He carried it all over the place.

Tyler looks GOOD! We had a great time:)

What a fun Surprise. I love Az in the winter time. It is a nice change from the Freezing cold of Utah :)

what fun holidays. I didn't remember that m and g had birthdays so close. Glad you are doing good and able to travel. And the kids...I can't believe how grown up. We were just talking about how long it had been since seeing them. where did the time go?
